Back From Eildon

Went up to Eildon for the Easter break, as the parent’s had a few visitors planned we were on the small marina housing the transfer barges. Which let us watch the excitement of the public ramp when the rain came in.

Public Ramp

If you spend all your money on the boat, you may not be able to afford a car that will pull it out from a muddy bank. Also there is a concrete boat ramp and as busy as that is, it’s quicker than getting bogged and then having to use the ramp. Also once you have gotten yourself bogged, it’s easier to get unbogged if you take the boat back off.

The mornings were foggy,

But soon burned off by mid morning,

So a lovely time was had.

Catch any fish? I found some nice ocean trout fillets at the markets on Saturday and hot smoked them for pre-BBQ nibblies.

No fishing just some relaxin’, though the fishing can be good.

It’s always good to just kick back and relax after a hectic schedule

They need one of those transformers that change from a car to a boat.

Mr Stu, that’s what it was.

Barnes, these guys couldn’t have found the manual let alone actually operate something that complex.

That looks great-the quiet, and the fog along the bank. I can picture getting up, grabbing a cup of coffee, and going out to hear the birds and the water slapping against the boat. Just like when my brother had his houseboat on the Mississippi.

As for the boat ramp-well, it is a bit of a skill to launch a boat. Perhaps they simply had the wrong vehicle. I recommend this unit here:

It was YDog, I’m not sure if Red Green could have helped these guys.

There is nothing quite as amusing as watching guys who use the boat once or twice a year become complete idiots when they realise that everyone is watching their hopeless efforts at being cool, even though the whole process is turning to shit before all those beady eyes.

Chaz it’s a great place especially in winter as it’s quiet and quite beautiful.
